Hello, my name is Thistle, and I'm in love with trolls... (WoW)

(No spoilers for the Zalazane's Fall event other than comments on the voice acting, no plot spoilers at all.)

Before yesterday, I was at best indifferent about the troll race. Indifferent strongly leaning towards dislike. Almost without exception, every troll player I run into is a raging asshole, and I don't mean just in RP.

Then came the Zalazane's Fall event yesterday. Oh my god. The voices! The accents! So amazingly hot. I'm in love. Just the one character saying "Zalazane" somehow was so very, very, very hot. I was melting in my chair.

Even the female voices were OMG SEXY. Almost every single voice in the event had me melting. (Zalazane was the only exception, he sounded exactly like Rafiki from Lion King! Ha! Not sexy, but amusing!)

I did the event three times yesterday (Haken, big Keen, mini-Keen) and have two more to do today (Crow and Thack). The quests leading up to the final event weren't fun at all (shades of FFXI events where you're just running and collecting endlessly as nothing but busywork*), but the final event makes it all worth it.

* As usually, I don't actually read the text quest, so for people who do maybe the busywork doesn't seem quite so bad.

Oh well, I guess it beats "a wizard did it" in terms of reasoning for changes to the race/job combos.

I was the first person on my server to finish the event, but they weren't giving out "server first" feats of strength so I was a sad panda...I'm also incredibly disappointed by the cape! I mean, I know they couldn't make it like some sort of awesome better then ICC cloak but still! Maybe make it so when you have it on then you have one of those masks following you (like at the middle point of the mission) or something. Not just "oh look, troll symbol that's covered up by my tauren hair...wooo...

At least the costume is nice.

I was the first person on my server to finish the event

Holy cow, wow! Cool! I wasn't even close to first. Wandered home from work, peered at the letter, asked around if any of my friends got 'some freaky IC letter' (RP server, so sometimes I get "spam" IC letters about some player-run event). Eventually wandered off and joined the mob doing it.

I haven't even tried the reward on! Just tossed it into the bank. I did try the costume though (which reminded me of FFXI, hee!).

The event is SO much easier to do today. I got half of it done at lunchtime. Woot!

It was all lucky timing mostly. I had went out to the college to scout out my classes and when I got home I checked wow.com and the top article was that they were put in! Went and tried to log in, got in right after the servers came up and headed over there.

I was actually sitting there at the NPC for the fight for 5 minutes before other people started to show up in the phase to help out! I didn't know if there was a "server first" for it so I ran super fast and turned it in like 2 seconds before the next guy.

Hell, I was doing something 2 hours later and someone said "I liked the letter they sent for the event!" and I had never gotten a letter (I ended up getting it 3 hours after I beat the event XD) so I didn't know that one had even gone out, I had just been spreading it word of mouth.
