You won't be able to just join a guild to get stuff. You have to earn guild reputation. All the stuff will be available to buy if the requirements have been met both from achievements and a person's personal guild rep. You get rep from doing things in guild groups.

As other people have said, it's an MMO. You're supposed to be interacting with other people. And with as many alts as it sounds like you have in your personal guild, even 55 reps among all of them isn't that hard if you want the pet. Good luck with the legendaries for the mount, though. :P
