I am convinced that Sarah Palin is just like Kelly Bundy: Whenever something goes in her head, something else must come out. I can already imagine the following scenario:

Aide: Madame President, is it true that we just bombed North Carolina?
Palin: Well, we've got to stand by our southern allies. (In a low voice.) They are our friends, right?
Aide: Um...in a manner of speaking. South Carolina is part of the union. But—
Palin: Oh, good! For a moment there I thought I just made a terrible mistake.

This will be followed (somehow) by a nuclear Armageddon...one that we probably deserve.
