Yogurt, yogurt...
Jan. 19th, 2011 08:19 amBreakfast shouldn't be this hard! And I need to read labels BEFORE I leave the store...
Since I disliked my last brand of Greek yogurt (though I'm still eating it daily for breakfast), when I saw Yoplait had a Greek yogurt as well, I decided to try it.
My reason for eating Greek yogurt is because it's healthier.
Yoplait's version of it has MORE sugar than its non-Greek version (18 grams vs 14 grams), and yet somehow it tastes even worse than the brand I had been eating previously.
Ugh. I'm starving, and this yogurt is both gross and not good for me, and it's hours until lunch. I have a tiny little apple (littlest apple I've ever seen, from the farmer's market) and a couple almonds. I'm going to starve before lunch!

Date: 2011-01-19 04:58 pm (UTC)pretty much just take some yogurt (with live cultures) from a previous batch, stick it into a pot of milk, leave it covered & untouched in a warm spot for 6-10 hours, and voila. (ok, there's a little bit more involved; mostly to sterilize stuff as best you can & to avoid aluminum; but to be honest, i do very little)
then you can add whatever you want to it. you can also change the portion size more easily.

Date: 2011-01-19 08:18 pm (UTC)Have you tried Fage or Chobani? Fage has a slightly smoother taste but I usually get Chobani for the extra protein. I either buy the ones with fruit included or I buy the plain and add fruit or granola/pecans in as I can't eat any of them plain.

And no worries on being hungry, I've now eaten lunch! :D
