Wasn't there an episode of The Simpsons that did something like Homer predicted when the Rapture was happening, got everyone up onto a mountain, was wrong, and it turned out he forgot to carry a number or something and then no one believed him, so when he climbed back up the mountain, he was the only person saved.

That's how I imagine it will turn out.
