Edit: computer repair place called. Said it really is only the power supply. O.o Will cost under $200 to fix, so going for it. Color me surprised! This is very unexpected.

Edit 2: I HAVE A COMPUTER! Yay! It cost only $120 total. o.O I didn't have a credit left with them (I checked my old emails, looks like they sent me a check instead), but hey.

I turned my WoW settings back up to ultra to see if it would explode again how it would do. Fans are loud, but so far no crashes.

I'm going to switch over to the laptop when it arrives, but this way I can do it slowly and without losing things. WHEW!

I'm genuinely shocked, especially after it being hot after the whole thing happened. Heat means that energy zapped all over the place, so that's really amazing. o.0

I'm surprised by this as well. Your power supply was a boss, totally took one for the team. I think it deserves a proper burial. Well, not like literally since you really shouldn't just go around burying electrical components but you know, like a symbolic burial. Or like some sort of memorial statue made of macaroni and sparkles.

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I moved all my WoW settings back to ultra, and other than the fan being louder than I remember, it's running fine. No overheating, no crashing. But I keep eyeing it, waiting for it to explode.

Alas, I didn't ask for the body back, so I couldn't bury it even if I wanted to. Good travels, little power source!

I'm really confused as to how things worked out. As far as I know, just a bit of static could harm things. How in the world did a giant arc of electricity not do anything? I'm not exaggerating, it was at least six inches outside of the machine, and it lasted long enough for me to look from the monitor, think 'Oh FUCK' and jump up from the desk. And then there was a second arc!

I know, I don't understand it at all, not one bit. The back is made of metal and it was so hot the tech jerked his hand away and went 'Ow!'. (I had felt the heat without touching it and kept my hand away while moving it.) I'm happy (really really happy) it's working, but I'm also so very confused.
