This better not be an indication for how 2014 is going to go

I felt horribly sick Wednesday night, and I noticed I had an odd pain on my leg. A very painful, red. No cut or broken skin though. I felt bad enough and "wrong" enough that I went to the urgent care walk-in clinic the next morning. Somehow I have a skin infection even without a cut.

I slept most of the last 48 hours, other than going to the doctor yesterday. I have to go back today to see if it's responding to the antibiotics, otherwise I'd be asleep now.

I still feel so bad. Weak to the point of walking to the bathroom wears me out.

I was supposed to go back to work yesterday. I'm sure it looks very suspicious that I called in yesterday and today, after the company was shut down the previous week.

I'll be very slow to reply to comments from the past couple days and today.

Sadly this happens. :( My husband gets them. Cellulitis I think it's called. Not sure of the name. That's what put him in the hospital last Jan, and nearly killed him. It isn't always life threatening, but should be taken seriously just the same.

I know that sounds dire, for it isn't always, but you did the right thing. Never take this stuff lightly. Never. Which means I'm VERY glad you went to the clinic.

Mark's been getting them for years. I've packed more wounds then I ever care to think about. x.x When it's bad enough they have to cut you open to drain the area. Then you have to let it heal from the inside out.. which means literally stuffing gauze into your open wound for weeks. I hope this never happens to you!

Get better soon!

But if work gets snippy (or you think they'll get snippy), they can blow. If you haven't left for the doctor's yet, please make sure to ask them for a note to give to work in case you can't make it on Monday. That way, HR will know you're not sloughing off.

That is a mystery. Were you also checked out for blood infection? A friend of our acquired somehow a blood infection and -- well it is nothing at all to wait around with. :(

I hope you quickly recover.

Love, C.

Feel better soon! Get a note from the doctor if you think work might get annoying.

Wait, what? Your company is shutting down? Did you mention this previously and I just missed it?

Hope the leg gets better soon!

Hope the antibiotics do their job and it's very much better soon.

Coming in late to this. How are you doing now? I hope the antibiotics kick this for you quickly.
