There is a saying that goes something like, "An editor who edits her own writing has a fool for a client." I'm paraphrasing a bit but you get the idea.

Also, editing is for work that you're selling. Stuff you write for yourself and friends to read probably doesn't need editing. But, since we're your friends, we will freely make fun of you anyway for any typos, so don't worry.
