The wife is a huge fan of movies. Loved going to theatres, watching movies...and the last few years have disappointed her. We saw Avengers last weekend and she was bored through most of it (other than Spader's voice-acting).
Lately, the only media she's looked forward to has been TV. This thread actually got her excited about a number of series (some of which were getting a second season while we'd never even heard of the first).
Add in an anime series or two I can convince her to watch (Death Parade, about the Arbiters who evaluate the ultimate destination of the souls of the dead through games in a bar in the afterlife, and PsychoPass which is cyberpunk Criminal Minds), and it seems like Hollywood isn't even trying. Which leavesoutall the other anime I'm watching that I'd argue beat out tons of the crap on US TV.
