The reason Wildcatter fell to such a low point in my to read pile was that I heard bad things about it -- that it was a typical self-published book, full of typos and such. So far (just a chapter or so in), happily that's totally wrong. I'm not in love with it, but I'm willing to continue and see if it hooks me.

I googled The Goblin Reservation, and while it looks interesting, I have little patience for dated stuff anymore, too. I'm going to skip it.
