As I don't feel like being logged on to the game, and big things happened last night, here's a post!

Last night was our first night of eye-hunting for Optical Hats. (Non-players: O-Hats are high level (70) hats with some really nice stats. +10 acc, +10 ranged acc, and +10 evasion. As you can probably guess, some jobs really need them (melees -- especially melees who are slow and already have acc issues. :P ). You have to farm 5 different eyes, get them crafted into an object, then use that object to spawn a harder monster who will drop the hat. As well as having good stats, it's something of a status symbol.)

We targeted mostly Blubber Eyes, though nabbed a Mindgazer when one was up. I left after 5 hours, but the party went on a little longer than that, and we ended up with (I believe) 11 eyes. We need two or three more off Blubbers, plus we all need them off the Mindgazers, so we'll be back there again.

It was a really, really long night, and felt like a ton more than the five hours it was. The first half of the night went well, but the second half (once others arrived) went downhill fast. It's good that I'm making this post now instead of last night, because if I had done it last night I would have probably burnt bridges. This morning I can put things into more tactful terms: I really expect better from people in our LS (or those in our "sister" LS -- close enough). What the hell happened to "follow the tail"? (People outside our LS: 'tail' basically means leader. 'Follow the tail' means you keep focused, don't run off and kill random stuff during missions, listen to the leader, not be stupid.) Gods a-fucking-bove, it got bad last night. Why pull a mob into camp when you could run up and kill it in the middle of an aggro-filled room? Why not train in lots of little mobs when the real pullers were bringing in the mobs we needed to kill? Main healer ran off to save the puller? Why should that mean you stop pulling random crap to fight! I swear, the end of the night was like working with non-LS people.

But aside from that, very interesting things happened last night! Including:

Woo woo woo woo! I hadn't thought I'd break 1K for many, many levels from now! (That was Souleater + Last Resort + WS.) However, that figure also leads to the most interesting thing of the night...

Now that I've had time to look at the screenshotted logs and check everything, I see something very, very strange. After I did SE+LR+WS, my life fell very fast. Like 400 (about 40%) in seconds. When I checked the logs, I saw that I hadn't been hit once. Yet lost 40% by doing one WS.

Recall that [livejournal.com profile] draymor has commented that a multi-hit WS + Souleater would be bad? I tested it out as soon as I got Guillotine and saw that SE only took one hit's life off me with the multi-hit WS, but look at this log from the fight. I LS, SE, WS, I do not get hit at all, and my HP is down 40%... 10% for each hit of the multi-hit WS. What was different between last night and when did the test? I was wearing my AF hat. I guess that's what the 'enhance Souleater' effect is -- makes it fire off for each hit of a multi-hit WS.

See, even when I got hate, the mobs never hit me for much. 20-20-20-20-20... it'd take a lot longer than they lived to take me down that much HP... (Edit: Now that I'm thinking abut it, I think some mob last night sometimes hit me for 100+. Maybe the eyes, I think...)

* I made lots of random SCs. Hee.

Kawaru, our favorite kittygirl THF had some really, really bad lotting luck last night. Funny thing is, he won with this lot -- only person to hit triple digits! Heeheehee.

* Using "rape" the wrong way ("Let's rape that mob!" / "We really raped that mob lol!") pisses me off endlessly, and it made me even angrier that a LS person would use it that way. (In my opinion, pearls should be broken for that.) However I was tired by this point, and my comment on him doing that came out sort of funny. Eh, no, I really don't want to rape anything. Honest!

* We got a NM last night! Wheeee! Actually, I think we got two, but I only have screenshots of one so maybe it was just one... (Really, so much of the night was a blur.) Mouu the Waverider! It was hard to get a good shot of him. He's the blue thing in front of Fenrir (non-players: the purple blob). As Ead put it, he was a "cheap bastard" and dropped next to nothing. Yay kelp...

Non-players, here's a much better picture of the type of mob he is: Sahagin! A cool fish-man thing that wears clothing (a little..) and carries weapons and such. I really, really love the details they put into the game, and now great/realistic the mobs look!

So all in all, the night was a success. Next time I MUST MUST MUST eat dinner before we start. I'm sure it hitting 11 PM and me having not had dinner was a factor in my grumpiness. Also, must bring my own great sword and more than 200 bolts next time. (Got 10 levels of marksmanship skillups before I ran out of bolts! *love love* Got a level or two of GS with Niala's sword, too!)
