Sometimes my mind goes there, and sometimes it doesn't (slashy stuff)

I live close enough to work that, if I time things right, I can actually watch a whole ep of Star Trek: DS9 over my lunch break. As that's my favorite ST series (in fact, just about the only one I like), it makes for a very enjoyable lunch.

Yesterday was one of those "alternate universe" eps, where Kira was an evil overlord and all the characters are different. Kira had been overthrown and Worf was in charge. Garak (who had been Kira's adviser? lover? both?) was kept in a collar and chained to Worf's chair.

Garak is one of my favorite characters, and those poor fellows tend to get slashed to heck and back in my head, but it wasn't until the ep was over that I even thought about it, and the first (and just about only) thought I had was "Huh. I guess that made some fans very happy...". I mean heck, there was one exchange like this:

Worf: Grunt, growl, I hate you!
Garak: *mumble* I don't like you much, either! At least with Kira I had a chance to... please ...her sometimes.
(I don't remember Worf's exact reply, but it was something about not being interested in that from Garak.)

A slash set-up so perfect that it was all but gift wrapped and handed to the fans on a golden platter does nothing for me, yet this quote from a FFXI comm post made my eyebrows shoot way, way, way up:

Found this gem while seeing what they had to say about Dangruf Wadi:

"Due to the extreme heat caused by the magma under the surface, numerous natural geysers can be found in this area. Long ago, the Galka often would come to bathe in the hot springs here to relieve the aches and pains caused by the long hours they worked in the mines."

I don't like Galka at all, I find them in no way sexy, but that one sentence set off such images in my mind! All those Galka, all but slaves to the Humes, used and abused, and only each other for companionship. Big, muscular, lonely Galka, naked and in hot springs together. You know they gotta have something going on, cause what other options do they have? (How likely is it that there'd be Hume/Galka stuff? Owwwww!) And yes, yes, Galka reproduce by reincarnation, but in my mind (gah, you made me think about this!) they must have the parts since they gotta pee and all. And if they had parts that were more female instead of male, everyone wouldn't think of them as male.

So tired. Work hasn't been as stressful as usual and I'm actually sleeping at night, so I don't know why I'm utterly exhausted, but hey. Just a fast post, then bed!

If not for one thing, this post could have waited until tomorrow morning.



WOO WOO WOO WOO! Finally! After months of checking and waiting, one of the last two pieces I needed wanted was waiting for came up for sale! And just a couple days after I offered that guy 2M for his. :D (And yes, I paid 1.5M for pants. Go ahead and snicker, LS people! Once I hit level 69 I'll never go pants-less again!) Now just one more piece to go!

I almost couldn't believe this happened! What a perfect spot! Heehee! It was fire weather and I was looking for an ele. I saw something at the campsite, but I figured it had to be a yag's ele... but nope! The darned thing was circling the wood, looking darned lonely. So I killed it, now it's not lonely anymore! And as an added bonus: I'm wearing hot pants in that shot~!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! o/~ Since it's almost Christmas time, I decided to start decorating the zone I spend so much time in. I, um, think I might have done something wrong though...

Ichorous Ire - a slime NM! I took this shot before I knew he was a quest NM and not a "real" one. I had been running through the Maze clicking on those fossils to see what they say, then next thing I knew I was being attacked! Tonight I went back (trying to farm slime oil) and spawned him on purpose. He dropped oil both times I killed him, so that might be something I continue to do if I'm in the area.
