That's kind of how I feel, too. It just takes a few pages to see if a book is going to work for me or not. Sometimes it takes them longer to hook me (the one I'm reading now started slow, but now I'm into it), but it's pretty fast to know if it's going to be a DNF or not.

That Comstock book would depress me, too. Especially now (looking at you, Texas), I can't handle that kind of thing.
