Actually, I think I recall you remarking on that. Probably the depiction of the Native American "Indian" character was wayyy to stereotypical and racist in today's terms. Back when I was a kid I just enjoyed it for being a story about small toy that came to life (something I used to imagine about all the time!) and then the part about the main character shrinking too, was v cool. There's at least one sequel, maybe two- not quite as good- I know I liked the first sequel okay, if there was a second one I might have not made it thru that.
It's one I think I would enjoy again as an adult, just for the nostalgia, but reading it for the first time at my age... maybe it wouldn't work so well.
