No one has gotten a raise here for longer than I've been here (a year and a half). I think the freeze was about six months before that, so that's a two-year pay freeze. They promised to give us increases at the end of the year, but they went back on that and are now saying July of 2003.

I'm not overly distressed about this, but seemingly others are. People are quitting left and right. I suppose I should be happy about this, since maybe it would mean fewer layoffs when more come (they promise no more, but they have big time promise-keeping issues here), but it's not a good feeling. There's talk we're going to be bought by some other company, there's lots of talk that no one wants to buy us but we want to be bought.

This isn't the kind of scary that Halloween is supposed to be...
