After Hoster bought the interests of Herancourt in 1840, the latter sought another opportunity to operate a brewery in the expanding midwest.

I just checked in "Over the Barrel: The Brewing History and Beer Culture of Cincinnati, Volume One, 1800-Prohibition" so that was closest to me.
