Two WoW questions & RL
1) Is MPK against the rules in WoW? Last night this human chick went AFK in the middle of a path (stupid, she was lower level than me and I still got aggro in the area, plus mobs wander onto the path). Though MPK is a mean thing to do and I usually don't have anything to do with the Horde/Alliance fighting (see also: my flirting with anything female on the Alliance side), it seemed like I could easily kill her that way if I had wanted to.
Luckily (for her or for both of us) I didn't want to. Then, minutes later, that Steelsnap (NM hyena) showed up with his two bodyguards. I kept shooting him and running, trying to draw him away from the bodyguards. I was running down the path, because I didn't want to run face-first into other mobs. During my last shoot-and-run I ran almost on top of that AFK human. At that point I stopped to fight the three mobs, partially because my "draw away" plan wasn't working and partially because if MPK is against the rules it would look like that was exactly what I was doing to her.
2) How do you handle those locked boxes (the ones that need to be lockpicked open)? I know no rogues, and I'm not too thrilled with the idea of walking up to a random one and asking him/her to do it. (How could you be sure you'd get whatever was in the box back?) I was sort of thinking I might need to level a character with that job, then I could mail it there to have it opened, but that's an awful lot of work. I have two boxes sitting in the bank right now, and I'd really like to know what's inside of them.
---
My stationary/exercise bike finally arrived. (I was home for lunch for an hour and FedEx showed up! What perfect timing!) Unfortunately it's in a smallish box (for an exercise bike), so it looks like it's going to need quite a bit of assembly. I hope I can do it, I'm not very good at that sort of stuff. I was glad I was home, as the box weights 98 pounds (!!!). It's only two steps up into my apartment, but it sure would have been a pain if I had had to drag it in.
EDIT: By the way, Rock Lee (Naruto)/Envy (FMA)/Armstrong (FMA) rocks my world. *dies of the sparklies*

Ah! Well that explains why I couldn't land an arrow on them as they returned back. Each time I failed to draw the NM away, once they stopped chasing me I'd turn around and chase/shoot at them. By the time they were back close to their starting point, they were also back to 100% health. :/

I often hear rogues shouting in IronForge offering to unlock boxes for tips. I'm sure the same can be found in Orgrimmar (or whatever the main Horde city is).

Cool beans! I'll try that! Thanks!

I'm with you when it comes to random PK, though. I'll do it on defense or in battlegrounds, but people are always trying to recruit me to go attack some alliance city somewhere just because it's there. Which doesn't really interest me.
As for the boxes... Just go to a main city and ask on general chat for someone who can pick a lockbox of whatever type you have. Someone will offer to do it. If you're feeling nice, give them a handful silver as a tip.
By the way, I have no idea who you are. I was reading through friends' friends lists and found this post. :) Aberdeen's friends, actually. So you can't be all bad.

I don't think anything is generally forbidden in WoW.
Heh, that sort of fits their game mindset, doesn't it?

I like being able to tip folks. As a crafter (on FFXI) I know what a nice thing it is.

Ah yes, well hello! :) I enjoy hearing about Aberdeen's chilly Alaska tales from far, far away. Nice and sunny CA, where snow is nearly as much of a myth as Santa is.

I usually offer a leather kit to go with it, just as a sort of "non-monetary tip" for RP or just general kindness purposes.
Also, I think if she's AFK, she might vanish into thin air. If you attack an AFK target, they sometimes just sort of vanish, though probably only if their connection dies.
