Sounds like a joke...

What do you get when you let 100 cats loose in an Ikea store?

The first three minutes of that I was scratching my head and wondering what the point of it was. (And I wouldn't let my cat take part in that!) But the last minute is really nice and made me smile.

Well that was...interesting. Not entirely sure what the point was but oh well, Ikea is still awesome. At the beginning of the video the first thing I thought was: "Gee, I hope the people working/shopping at that Ikea don't happen to be allergic to cats by chance!"

Cats are awesome. Leta bunch of dogs loose in Ikea and they would wreak havoc and there would be all sorts of "surprises" throughout the store.

Yes! I had that same exact reaction. Not exactly fair to potential customers...

It looks like they were trying to minimize that though, what with the cleaning of the cats near the beginning to try and remove any loose hair and then the cleaning at the end. Of course it wouldn't be perfect but it should limit that.

I like cats like the next spinster, but I'm dubious about that whole operation. Yes, the ad has a happy-making effect (as does everything with cats in), but honestly - carting 100 cats to IKEA where they were subjected to stress, strange humans, strange cats, noise and the general hurly-burly of filming just to make a commercial? I wouldn't let my cat take part in that, either.

Of course, I'm prejudiced, because I've only just seen a report on how IKEA buys illegally harvested wood, thus contributing to the destruction of primeval forests in Siberia!
