Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

I swear, the race for California governor is getting stranger and stranger.

So for those who don't recall, Meg Whitman has so far spent $104 MILLION DOLLARS of her own money on her campaign. This is a woman who has never held office of any sort before. Who has not even voted in decades. But she thinks she can be governor.

Amusingly, Jerry Brown, who has spent almost nothing on ads yet, is currently in a tie with her.

But that's not the point of this post! Whitman, who is a Republican, is using Bill Clinton in her ads. I mean, WTF. Didn't the Republicans hate him endlessly? What the heck is she doing featuring 30 seconds (of him attacking Brown) in her ads!

I suppose she's being sneaky. I suppose she's trying to get Dems who like Clinton on her side. Sorry, lady, we're a hell of a lot smarter than that.

Thistle, your faith in humanity is showing again!

But... I... We...

Bah.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry at that!

American politics are one of the strangest things on this planet.

Aren't they? Some country (England, I think?) doesn't permit political ads of any sort. I really wish we'd adopt that. The amount of money wasted on commercials, and they annoy the heck out of me...

Well...apparently Jerry Brown and Bill Clinton did not always see eye to eye, and Brown actually took a shot at Clinton recently. I suppose Whitman is just trying to take advantage of the situation.

A bit underhanded, I think. On the other hand, I have no idea what Brown was thinking. Why would you take a shot now...over a decade later? That seems rather immature at the very least.

Yeah, I heard that after making this post. Not only does it seem immature, but pretty stupid as well. Clinton is still really popular in some circles, no need to piss those people off when you might want their votes.
