It's only when I try to write a post that I think I have a really boring life...

I don't like writing about diet/weight nonstop, but it seems the only news I have to share lately. However, I'll make it brief. I lost three pounds this week (WOO). Yesterday my schedule got messed up (had to stay late for work meeting), so I ate a "bad" lunch (not just a deli sandwich with bread, but a large one instead of small -- I bought it telling myself I'd save half for later, knowing full well that was a complete and total lie). Felt like crap the rest of the day from eating too much.

In sleep news, stayed up too late RPing last night, but oh was it good and totally worth it. :D I suspect my RP is going to take a turn into the dark and depressing, which is A-OK with me. Skipped using the CPAP machine because it was so late, and slept wonderfully -- best sleep I've gotten in weeks. Even short on hours, I feel a lot more rested today than usual.

Still no word on the insurance covering my surgery or not. They said it could take up to 15 business days to decide (starting this week), so that puts us awfully close to the surgery date itself... Worry worry.

I did that 40 minute phone call with the nurse. Was boring and pointless, but mostly painless. Mostly stupid covering-their-asses questions like "Have you ever been so sad you didn't want to get out of bed?". First off, no. Second off, if I did feel that way, I sure as heck wouldn't tell you as that would likely red flag me on surgery.

Off to work! Have a good almost-Friday everyone!

WOOO THREE POUNDS!!! That's awesome!

And your blog isn't boring, it's one of my favourites to read (don't pay attention to how little I've been on the past couple of weeks though ;)!

I do the exact same thing at Subway, where I'll get a foot-long instead of a half, and say I'll save the rest for later... I do save the rest... in my belly. The hardest part of allowing myself to slip/cheat is that I always forget how physically crappy I feel afterwards, because no matter how crappy you feel, it still tastes damn delicious.

And that is a ridiculous question to ask for a surgical procedure.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it! :)

I do save the rest... in my belly.

Hahaha exactly. I had intended to eat the other half for dinner, but I was so full I didn't want dinner so just had something tiny, so I did indeed save it in my belly!

Yay for the weight loss! Hopefully that gives you enough of a margin for the dr appointment and "last meals"?

I think so, but I'd like to lose five more just to be safe. He said 10-15, so if I lose 25 that should cover even the worst water weight gain. Or so I hope!

I'm not sure I ever asked ... have you ever tried sleeping a bit ... errr, damn, I lack the english words. Kind of like a tiny bit sitting up? That sounds wrong. I mean in a way that your head/back is in a x degree angle a little more upright. A friend of mine (who is also overweight and had breathing issues at night) started doing this and said it basically changed her life because she sleeps waaaay better this way.

kind of like that: http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/11652927/Bed_Wedge_Pillow.jpg or http://i01.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/921/651/551/551651921_844.jpg

but maybe less extreme. or with that:

Hmm I hadn't, though that sounds like it could work. I could just put bricks or something under the legs at the head of the bed.

Thanks for the idea!

Try it and tell me if it helps :) Otherwise such a triangle sleeping thingy could be a good idea, too.

Yay for progress!
I hope the insurance decides to cover it!

Me too, so much!

And thanks!

AH yes, the old, "I'll get a great big one, and I'll save half of it for dinner!"

I have been known to ALSO tell myself that lie on days when my routine is rearranged. I think I have actually gone through with saving half for dinner once in my entire tenure at my favorite deli.

Because sandwiches are fucking delicious, that's why.

Seriously. It wasn't even a really good one, but there was so much bread! More than I've had in the rest of the month put together. GLORIOUS BREAD

One day soon I'm going to get a whole loaf and eat, well, some of it. A good some of it! A good loaf, not like sliced sandwich bread.

[identity profile] teaandfailure.livejournal.com 2014-08-15 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I know that feeling! I've decided if I'm going to eat bread it's going to be GOOD bread, so when I get ready for a bread binge I usually get a fancy baguette from the farmer's market or something. Weirdly, I don't eat the whole loaf when I have good bread, maybe it is because I want to make it last? Whereas when I got that bread in a can from Pillsbury, I would eat the whole thing straight out of the oven.

Stupid brain.

[identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com 2014-08-15 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, getting it from the farmer's market is my plan, too. Though I think plans have changed and it won't be this weekend (not only am I not craving it, I'm totally meh on the idea). The next time I want it though, then I will.

Maybe the difference in the amount you eat has to do with quality? So the good stuff satisfies us faster, while the bread-from-a-can is unsatisfying so we need to eat more?

Congratulations on the progress!

[identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com 2014-08-15 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

Yay, you are making progress!

[identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com 2014-08-15 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, finally! :)

Don't judge the nurses asking questions about your crazy, judge the lawyers and our litigious society for making it necessary...

[identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com 2014-08-15 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, good point. I'm sure they have lots of other things they'd rather be doing than talking to me.
