Meh weekend (WoW, RP)
May. 4th, 2009 08:50 amWoW was very FFXI-ish for me this weekend, but it was totally my own fault.
On a side (yet related) note, I really wish this wasn't my first time taking a job to 80. So often I belatedly learn/notice something that could have helped me ages ago. Like, say, that there are daily cooking/fishing quests in Shatt. *facepalms* I just discovered that on Saturday.
So since I now do cooking/fishing daily quests in two cities, I decided it would be smart to stockpile meats that are needed for them, for days I didn't have time to farm. One of the quests needed raptor ribs and (some kind of meat from the flying snake things). "Hmm, where's the lowest level area that has both mobs? Barrens!" So off I flew, killed things for a while. "Wow, horrible drop rate... I haven't gotten one yet!" Finally I googled and they only come from an Outlands zone. *facepalm*
So off I went and farmed there for a while, almost getting killed in a zone where everything's green -- some giant walking around thing, Son of (something), was an elite 70 mob. I'm 73, it should have been doable! I couldn't even put a damned dent in the thing (seriously, I didn't even nudge its HP before my pet died).
Other meat I needed was worg (for skilling, as I get northern spices). I spent about three hours just killing them. x.x So boring!
Sunday was an odd day. I ended up with 12 arctic furs! That'll be about 250 gold, when it all sells! (A lot of 5 sold, as well as the two singles, just waiting for the other lot of 5 to move). That was highly cool, as I had only gotten three total before Sunday.
60% into level 73, gold is ~3,500. It's going to be a darned tight race to have 7K by the time I hit 77. ...especially when I get stupid sometimes. For some unknown reason, I decided I needed to get the 'learn 75 recipes!' accomplishment last night. FFXI-thinking: "75? That'll be simple! There are hundreds and hundreds of them out there!" I spent about four hours flying/riding around to various cities to pick up one I didn't know yet... plus the wiki/random WoW sites were often out of date and the NPC would have none. Finally I ended up buy 7 ally-only ones off the AH... and I still don't have the accomplishment. Must Stop Spending Money On Unnecessary Things!
RP: It's been a long time since I had a RP that depressed me and made me angry RL. One of the people I play with /whispered to me asking me if I wanted to scene. "And my character's personality is really different now, too!" ...buh? I had played with her just a few days ago, how much could a character change in that time? She went from an agreeable (if somewhat clingy and needy) character to a raging bitch. :/ The bitching was totally and unfairly directed fully at my character. (To be fair, my character had a history of what she was angry about, but last night he was being good and trying hard to do well and had been the one in the right.) Blah. It pinged RL issues like that, plus annoyed me at the unfairness of it. *pats a Haken* You tried, it's okay. :(
