My sword, let me show you it (WoW)

One of the reasons I don't post many WoW screenshots is that they generally look like crap. Doesn't matter what format I save them in, they look fuzzy and blah. That means it will be hard to show off my new sword, but I can try!

Prettiest sword ever! It has a general blue glow to it, then bluer 'lightning' bits shoot out of it, and those dark bits are always flowing outward, so it looks like the sword is breaking up... in a sexy way!

This isn't my screenshot, but you can find a better image of it here. The blades under the enchantment are similar, though not exactly the same. Enchant Weapon - Executioner is responsible for the whole effect, the blade was not glowy at all before that.

580 gold for a RP weapon, but eee I love it so much! I almost wish I could have put it on one of my main weapons so I could see it all the time, but I wasn't sure if armor penetration rating would make people laugh at me, plus I think it's going away? Plus my weapons already had glows before enchantments, and I learned the hard way that when you enchant an already glowing weapons, the original glow stays as well.

Also: Finished up Sons of Hodir rep today (15th rep, so got an achievement for it), and bought one of the two mammoths (1K one, still need the 8K one). Started Cenarion Expedition rep, since they have a mount as well. Sooner or later I'll have to do Netherwings again (ugh) as they'll be the last rep I need for mounts...

Bought an authenticator RL. Hate how they slow down the login process, but I'm so worried about being hacked even though I'm careful as I can be online.

Armor pen isn't something people would laugh at you for. It's a useful stat. It's not going away until Cataclysm, so basing your gear choices on Cataclysm stats is stupid. :P That itemization on the blade will just change to something else once Cata comes out.

And you can be careful as can be and still get hacked. There's a lot of forced logins going on since Blizz doesn't lock you out after x number of wrong tries. I'm careful too, and if you'll recall, I got hacked. I thought I must have had a keylogger at the time, though I never did find anything too suspicious, but since then from stuff I've been hearing about what happens, I figure it was a brute force attack on my account. Getting an authenticator was the right move. Adding five seconds to your login process for about as sure protection as you can get in this world is worth it. :P

At present Armor Pen is one of the more specced stats in WoW for Melee classes. I read an article that some folks gem/enchant exclusively Armor Pen as it gives the most bang for the buck right now.

The Cenarion War Hippogryph is one of the prettiest mounts in the game. =) I <3 mine, especially since they finally gave them a ground animation.

Hm? That screenshot seems clear enough to me? Nice-looking sword definitely. I kinda' wish they'd add (or let us add) effects to some weapons in XI. Relics or Mythics should have like a shimmer effect, or some kind of aura at the very least.

Also: You have a character named Parm?? *snicker* (mmm, chicken parrrrmmmmm...!)

Well, we can do it. Admittedly, we have to break the TOS to do it since .DAT modding is covered in there. But like half a year ago they figured out the hex codes to allow for adding effects to weapons like we see in cutscenes a bunch.

Probably the best example so far. (http://ffxidats.com/page.php?id=5542) Done by the .DAT god who is mooshy. So, the ability is there that they could add stuff like that to the game if they wanted to, they just haven't, probably PS2 limitations XD

Personally though, I kinda like that FFXI doesn't have the big crazy effects like WoW does for everything. But yes, it would have been nice to see some subtle glows or additions to weapons. Like with En-effects and such.

Ooh, Cata? Ha, yeah, that's quite a while away. And drat! Now I'm kicking myself that I didn't get it on one of my main weapons... maybe I'll have to collect the mats again!

And yeah, $7 for the initial purchase and a couple extra seconds while logging in will really be worth the peace of mind. And new pet, too!

Is the Cenarion War Hippogryph much different than the one you get from jousting? I have that one, and the idle animations rock so much!

Yeah, that one isn't so bad, but in general they're fuzzy and blurry.

Ha! That's how Parm got his name, too. :P He was just a throw away character for some RP scene a year or so back, I've just never deleted him.

Have you ever ridden the Hippogryphs in elven lands? Same things. Beautiful black critters with colorful feathers...they're gorgeous. In fact I think I'm going to add it back into my mount randomizer with the Albino and Red Drakes, and the Turbo Copter. =)

I've been meaning to look for something like that! I have a couple flying ones I really like (flying carpet, current hippo) and so just try to pick randomly which one to use.

I've been slacking off on rep the last couple days. Part of it is that I know I have no where near enough quests left to get the rep I need, so I'm going to have to grind like 20K rep through ear farming... 15 ears at 150 rep per set will be... does math... 1,999 ears needed! Blah.
