...Hrm. But apparently I calculated the AH fee very wrong. I told him 20K, it was 33K Blah. c.c So the final selling price, instead of my intended 200K, was 187K. 67K profit on the damned thing, not worth the endless stress at all, but at least it's gone. (I wonder how I got the math so wrong? Maybe I looked at an out of date website for the percent...)

Anyway! I'm now, finally, a WoW millionaire! Cheating though, Horde + Alliance together.

1,027,382 gold. HAPPY! Now I just need 1M all on one faction. Then 2M. Then 3M. *cough*

Though between the rooster and the pattern I've been hunting, it's a wonder I make gold at all. I spent months camping both factions for Pattern: Rich Purple Shirt, when finally it popped on Alliance side. For 5K. Massively overpriced. But I've not seen it in months, and my gold is stuck on Alliance, so I figured buying it would just be moving some of it back to Horde. (Plus I hadn't seen one on the Horde AH in all that time, so the market would probably be ripe for moving the shirts.) Got it on Horde-side, learned it, made one... and in that time, two shirts appeared on the AH (not even very expensive, either! 40-something gold). I'll never make that 5K back. :P


And to top it all off, I ate food today! Too much food, but as yesterday was a food-issue day (*grumble*) I'm mostly okay with that.

You don't understand Garrosh, you're thinking of this all wrong, as if we had the money back in the safe! The AH doesn't have your gold! Your golds in Kianlar's house and well that's right next to yours. It's in the Thistle's house and the Clover's house and another hundred others! You're lending them the gold to build and then their going to pay it back as best they can. I mean what are you going to do, ban them?

I really should start talking to you about making gold, because I don't understand most people. =(

Currently, the total price of stuff I need is 43.1K. I can get the gold fairly easily, I just have to NOT be persuaded into buying other things.

But I'm farming the mats I need for Vial of the Sands, because I want an upcoming achievement number to be special.

I suspect it's a personality thing. Our RL ways of dealing with money reflect this same in game money thing. I have money RL and in game, but I'm never comfortable spending it -- I'm happier saving it. You're in debt, but you made that plan to buy things anyway as you paid off bits of it. So it makes sense that we have the same issues/behaviors in game, I guess?

I just made a huge change in how I handle character money. =D Rather than consider each character as their own gold owner, it's now on my guild bank mule, along with the mats I've farmed so far. 1/4 of the way through the gold sink items. =D

I never liked doing that, I always tended to give my characters some "seed" money, and I would borrow money from each character and pay it back. Recently I borrowed 500 gold from my shaman so my warrior could get 310% flying, and just paid it back the other day.

But there's a reason I'm aiming for the Vial of the Sands now. Special occasion coming up. For myself. Will hopefully be posting about it in the next couple of weeks. =D

Ha, sorry! :D It's what I do. On my last MMO I had a crapton of money, too. It's just something I enjoy, figuring out how to make money, play markets, drive other people out of markets. I don't PvE, don't PvP, but play the AH? I love it. :D
