I wish I could mentally write and post to LJ. I have things to write about, honest! Info about my job, the latest books I've read, my life, but no time! Or when I have time, I have no drive. Alas. Maybe this weekend!

So, for now, some amusing things. Both are political, but in a mild (and funny) way.

A mother in Kenya gave birth to twin boys. She named them Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

By way of [livejournal.com profile] kishenehn, a tumblr: White People Mourning Romney. So very, very amusing!

I think that this image (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7137/8166983591_a4b379bfda_z.jpg) sums everything up nicely. I do like when you go back enough when it looked like Romney would win the popular vote but still lose there is tons of bitching about the electoral college. You know, it's not like the shoe would have been on the other foot or anything if it had ended up that way...

I snickered at that one!

And yeah, I knew they would forget about/ignore Bush if that had been the case...

I am old enough to remember crying when Reagan won. Schadenfreude now!

That was the first election I voted in, and I was the worst voter. I voted for Reagan because he was an actor or because I liked his name or how he looked or something. I don't remember the reason, other than it was a bad one. I'm glad to say, after that one I got a lot better.

It was also the last time I voted Republican!

A lot of people older and wiser than a first time voter made the same mistake.

The funny thing is-- he looks less crazy now. Now we know how much worse things can get!

Very true. And sadly, yeah. I hope things will be better in four years, but I worry they might be even worse.

The thing that really gets me about Romney is that he's a Mormon. And there's a ton of nasty shit I stressed over with this guy, but that was the worst.

Why? Because as a Mormon he took oaths to the church where he MUST gain their approval in anything he does. He MUST do as his elders order him to.

So... we, as a nation, nearly voted the Mormon church into the presidency.

Sorry, but that scares me.

That's exactly what happened with me and voting for Arnold...biiiig mistake there.

Amazing that that never even came out...

How many times have we dodged bullets lately? Him, Palin... Too bad we didn't dodge the Bush second term. (Boggling that no one sees the trend of these all being Republicans.)

I'm glad we both grew out of that! I suspect there are people who still vote based on those sorts of things...

What really amuses me is that Republicans take this exact same view of Clinton. "man, we were so scared of him then...but we'd much prefer Clinton to Obama!"

The cognitive dissonance hurts me so very much.
