HP100, the 100 word story Harry Potter writing group, is a lot of fun. With so many people in it, there are usually some really creative ideas that get thrown out there. Unfortunately, with so many people in it, there's also more... "less good" stuff posted.

HT100, the Oz (Hard Times) 100 word story writing group, seems to be the opposite. They have a very small core of writers, but from what I can tell, all of them are excellent. (Edited to add: Okay, I found a less-than-perfect one.) It's odd (and a little scary) when a tiny little 100 word story can actually get a physical reaction from you. This week's theme is 'Sense of Smell'.

Chris smelled of sweat and heat. Touch him and you'd sizzle sort of heat, a tangible field surrounding him, so thick you could about see it. It lingered long after he had left the room, and when his broken body had been removed, when Toby entered what had once again become their pod, he recoiled from the assault on his senses, the familiar scent hitting him, a fist in his gut. Suffocating smothering slowly slipping under his skin until he didn't know where he ended and Chris began. He leaned against the glass wall, breathing hard, and he didn't know if he was trying to inhale Chris or expel him.

---------

Clean, he always smelled clean, like fresh laundry, like the stench of this place could never really touch him. Even when he was sweating, when I made him sweat, when the lights went out and it was just him and me and those soft moans he would make when I touched him in just the right place, that smell, that sweet smell of sex mixed with vulnerability, it was intoxicating. It was even better after, he could just be lying there, on his stomach and I would lean over and inhale him trying to make it a part of me, like that scent alone could cleanse my soul.

I'm just watching the HT100 group right now, you need to be approved to become a member and get posting rights. I'm not sure if I'll request to join at some point...
