Hmmm, you might be right! Or close. They look sort of like horse chestnuts (http://www.quirksee.org/2013/10/25/read-before-foraging-how-to-identify-the-poisonous-horse-chestnut/), which apparently are poisonous. Fitting, they look like evil things. Sort of like this, but brown:
