I know
loneguardian was/is playing it, and anyone else who knows is free to pipe up. How is it? Compared to FFX, say? Worth getting?
Yes, yes, I know I don't need another game. I almost never have time to touch Animal Crossing, I may never finish my beloved Harry Potter game, and though I try to get back to FFX and play it through again, I don't have time time... but I keep hearing interesting things about Xenosaga, so...

Date: 2003-05-28 02:11 pm (UTC)I liked it, it's a good game, though my opinion of it dropped after the ending really. I actually like almost all the characters in it too! Only problem I had with it is that it's really just what it is, part of a series. It doesn't explain half of what I wanted to know, and I'm assuming that's going to be left for the following 'episodes' that lead up to Xenogears.
Compared to FFX? I'd take FFX over it any day, simply because it stands alone and I feel a little more attached to more of the characters rather than wondering why the heck they're in the game at all. Xenosaga didn't get as much of an emotional reaction out of me, honestly. Is it worth it? Mm. It depends. It's a lot of watching, less playing (and when you do play, you BETTER level up, or the bosses will hand you your ass repeatedly), so it depends what you like. There's some fun strategy stuff in the beginning too, and the refs to XG are all amusing.
At any rate, I enjoyed it, and I feel it was worth the money I put out for it. Not my favorite by a long shot, but still quality enough that I'm considering replaying again. If you can, I'd suggest renting it first to see if it suits your style. It's not a terribly long game. ^^
