The CD with all the HP books on it works on my work computer! YAY! (While my home computer doesn't make a sound, when you put a music CD into it it *acts* like it is. It failed to do anything with this CD.)

I could almost like work while listening to the books.

Heehee. Happy me!

I'm so glad you found a way to make it work- I hate it when people get substandard/nonworking stuff off E-bay. (I'm still seething over the "universal" copy of "The Barchester Chronicles" for which I paid mightily, only to discover that I have to watch them in black & white, or else put up with purple faces and green backgrounds.)

I also wanted to mention that I'm really enjoying your Japanese confection taste-test reports!

Thanks, and I agree! I've had such good experiences for so long with eBay, I hate to see something ruin that track record. (And I'm sorry for your trouble!)

Thanks for letting me know! Sometimes I worry that I'm just spamming friends' friends pages with posts like that.

Harry Potter on CD, GOOD. :)

(Although, my experience is that Goblet of Fire took up *four CDs*, when ripped as mp3, so I hope you have more than one CD. :)

Nope, it's only one CD, but I'm told it's a special kind. Is there such a thing as a high density CD? That's what one of the other buyers claimed it is.

When I look at the CD through Windows Explorer, I see files for all of the stories, and they look about the right number of Kb... so I hope it's all there!

Hmmm! I've never heard of a high density CD, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. :)

How many mp3 files do you have for Goblet of Fire? That's the one I'm most familiar with. I think my unabridged copy has 275.

Uh. Huh. Interesting. I wonder why you have so many fewer than I do.

Each one of mine are 30-45 minutes long. I suspect yours are shorter?

Ah. That's probably it, ja. :)

(I think I prefer my shorter ones. :)

Yes, I think shorter would be better, too. Easier to stop. (I have to count little dots on the progress bar thingie.)
