Taken from [livejournal.com profile] mctabby but started by [livejournal.com profile] shayllla:

In your journal, post about something you have never read/never intend to read. It can be a pairing, a category (suicide fic/mpreg, etc) a particular fandom, and so on. Then everyone else makes recommendations for the very best of that particular kind of fic they can find, and you read it and see what happens. ... It's an exercise in broadening horizons...

I just don't get twincest. Fred/George. I know Chia (furry_bottoms) is into that, but... you know... brother/brother? However, I've been wrong about disliking things before (see also: Harry/Snape, all of HP in general), so I'm open to trying this. Can't promise that I'll like it (right now the thought squicks me), but I'm willing to give it a try if someone makes a recommendation of a good fic.

I haven't got any recs (sorry) because I also squick at twincest, but I'm with you on the Harry/Snape thing. Recently started reading some HP/SS because a lot of great authors write it, even though I'm not a fan of that pairing.

Shall also do this.

Yeah, I started out not being a fan of the pairing, but now I... well, I guess I am. :) Have you read If You Are Prepared? If not, it's a really great one to read, probably my favorite. (Seriously long, too. Easily novel length.)

Hi, just dropping in from Found Objects. I have no reading suggestions in the category, but this post got me thinking. Then a friend I hadn't talked to in a long time called and recommended Mists of Avalon, which is something I wouldn't normally pick up. But will now. Neat timing. : )
Thanks for putting up a good idea.

Don't tell anyone, but that used to be one of my favorite pairings. [livejournal.com profile] aome (aka Plumeria) wrote a few stories like that, which must be linked to from here (http://www.mark356.net/stories.html#plumeria). Bracken (ff.net profile here (http://www.fanfiction.net/profile.php?userid=52561)) wrote several very enjoyable twincest stories, my favorite of which is Very Vanilla. The last time I read anything by [livejournal.com profile] ailei other than the famed Drawing Down the Moon which she wrote with [livejournal.com profile] khirsah, I was annoyed by the use of asterisks, but other than those, she writes very intense, beautiful twincest. Finally, Knight Smeg has a website ( http://www.smeg.ws/ ) and I can recommend just about any story that she does.

I hope that was at least a small help to you!

Dude. Dude. Fred/George is my OTP, and there is some really glorious stuff out there that you simply must read. Most twincest is cliched crap, but when it's good, it's gorgeous and profound and can be really really hot. Um. Okay, some recs:

"Gemini" (http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=705012) by Penelope Z
Very dark and sad. A bit OOC to my eyes, but beautiful nonetheless.

"The Way We Work" (http://papermoon.crackerbox.nu/thewaywework.html) by Aspen
A bit scattered, but very funny and sexy, with terrific dialogue and naughty, naughty boys.

"Let's Get Metaphysical" (http://www.geocities.com/missmathildamay/metaphys.htm) by Mathilde
Very sharp meditation upon identity and love.

"Weight" (http://www.acherontia.net/amatia/h_potter/weight.html) by Amatia
Spare and lovely. Twins/Ginny.

"Switch (http://members.fortunecity.com/bitchwill/switch.htm) by Proserpina
and
"Something Else" (http://members.fortunecity.com/bitchwill/something.htm) by Proserpina
Both of these are melancholy, thoughtful little ficlets.

"The Other Sons" (http://vigilantgriffin.net/kay/fiction/theothersons.html) by Kay Taylor
Mainly Bill/Charlie, with a side of the Twins. Kay is a wonderfully smooth, quiet writer who can rip your heart out without your noticing until it's too late.

"Crushed Beneath the Delicate Weight of a Piano That Tumbles from Heaven, or The Tragicomedy of Weasley Blood" (http://crackerbox.nu/indentured/piano.html) by Marvolo
The twins get in Hermione's path. Absolutely devastating, without an ounce of sentimentality. Read everything by Marvolo, as she's brilliant.

"Heart's Been Divided" (http://joyce.jteers.net/SQ/fics/heartdivide.html) by Sqeakyclean
Heartbreaking. Ron and the twins and love and longing and my god this hurts.

"Double or Nothing" (http://www.yearningvoid.net/stories/calico/000039.html) by Calico
Twins/Lance Bass. Hear me out! Calico is quite simply the finest writer of erotica ever, and I'm including Anais Nin and John Cleland and Henry Miller, et al, in that assessment. She's brilliant, and your moniter will melt. Also, this is funny and heartfelt and sweet, and completely whacked-out in the best possible way.

Also, check out "The Burrow" on Amatia's site (http://www.acherontia.net/), for more Weasleycest recs.

Oh, thanks for all the links! These should keep me reading for a good long while.

And wow, your icon, especially with your user name, is just too cute! (C is for cute, and that's good enough for me!)

Thanks for the recs!

Dammit, Catja already recced all my favorite twincest! *pouts*

But, now that I think of it, here's some more:

'The Tragicomedy Of Weasley Blood' by Marvolo
http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=marvolo&itemid=89186

'No Rush' by Silvia
http://www.rightthisway.net/proclivities/silvia/norush.html
Beauty and twincest in the early morning.

'Theory and Practice' by Silvia
http://www.rightthisway.net/proclivities/silvia/theoryandpractice.html
Twincest as a one scene play. It's sweeping romance! Or not.
