Not dead yet!
Aug. 25th, 2003 03:59 pmAt the moment I'm still alive. I'm guessing this might be a good thing, but honestly I'm not totally sure. Brain frazzled. Bad, icky, insane day. Boss is having a good day though, chatting and laughing for hours with random people. Glad he's having such a good time, that little social butterfly!
I put in (and got) Tuesday next week off. That'll make it a four day weekend this weekend. YAY. Allow me to repeat that: YAY! Will likely see a movie Tuesday (next week). Doesn't look like much good is out now, so might see Pirates of the Caribbean again, if it's still showing then.
I think today is three weeks of no meat. Very surprisingly, I'm not craving it now, and haven't in the past weeks. On the other hand, the eggs I had for dinner tasted amazingly good, so maybe they had something in them that my body wanted. Or maybe I was just in the mood for eggs.
It's my brain and TV advertising that is the only thing that makes this meatless thing a little hard. Burger King is running an advertisement: A triple cheeseburger and fries and a soda for $3! Man, that's a deal! My cheap, cheap brain latches onto it: Lots of food for little money! GO THERE NOW! And if I think about it a lot, if I picture a juicy burger, then I can almost work myself into wanting one, but honestly, that's really easy to push away.
Other than salads, I've had no fast food in the last three weeks either, other than once (fries). (This is after eating it at least daily for years.) The funny thing is, when I went there the one time and got the fries, they didn't taste good. So either I got an odd batch of them, or my mouth stopped being used to whatever funky chemicals they use. Either way, while I miss the convenience of fast food, mostly I don't miss eating it.
My eating has shifted in general. Cereal for breakfast, then instead of starving until lunch, I have a piece of fruit. Then salad or a simple sandwich (PB&J) for lunch, and fruit/popcorn snacks a couple times until dinner. Even with snacks, I'm usually starving by then, and so eat a bowl of pasta or pizza or something. Have brown rice, needs to try making that.
Workdays are better than weekend days, as I eat a lot more fruit on them. When I'm sitting at home on weekends, it's popcorn and crackers and ... (15 minutes later) ... cookies. Work calls. *post* *zoom!*
