thistlechaserThat'd be me! After too many hours, I've succeeded in making a LJ S2 style using S1! Or pretty darned close to it, anyway. There were two things I liked about S2, and one of them was the ability to have floating boxes of stuff on the side of your journal. Thanks to tables upon tables, I've done the same. (I wouldn't have minded them staying in place while the journal itself scrolls, but that they scroll as well is no biggie.)
The other: I'd *like* to also get the icon I use with a post to be displayed, but ... hm. I don't believe that S1 supports that at all, but I might be able to do that with a little clever editing. (Change the 'current music' to 'current icon', and then I'd just need to know the picture ID for each icon. Though that'd be a pain...)
The info in the side boxes is subject to change, and I think I'll put little graphic headers in them to make them look a little nicer. Or maybe not, we'll see!

Handy-dandy trick (and part of why I don't want to move to S2): You can force *all* comments (and I think other pages?) into your style without adding "?style=mine" by hand. If you go to your edit info page and scroll down to the middle of it, you'll find "View comment pages in your journal style?". Check it, and ta da! No more needing to add it by hand.

The repair men came and fixed our AC. Now it's just a little cool, not OH MY GOD SO COLD COLD COLD KILL ME NOW PLEASE, which is a very nice change.
Went to Trader Joe's. Stared at veggies a while. Didn't buy any, but got meatless ribblets, meatless meatballs (feel silly just typing that), cornbread (mmm), and blueberry scones (MMMM). And, uh, some other stuff, but I failed at buying veggies. Oh well.
