I've had this worry that something will happen with [livejournal.com profile] hp100 and all the posts will get deleted or lost or something, so I finally put the time into copying my drabbles onto my off-LJ page for them. (I was only 15 weeks behind!) here, if anyone is interested.

Did some wathing tonight:

* Tried 'Hajime No Ippo', an anime about boxing which was recommended to me. Couldn't get into it at all. Hated the art style. Very, very old. Blechy. Besides, muscles kept bulging at me, and I got scared.

* Finished the last four eps of Full Metal Alchemist. (So much for making them last!) I wonder what ep they're on in Japan? I wonder how long till they translate more? Need more! It's soooooo good. I love the spirit of the series, how no matter what you do, it has results. And get this: When the main character (the hero) was in a deadly situation, he panicked. When it was over, he cried and shook. It effected him for all the eps after it happened (so realistic!). Why can't we have characters react like this in our TV shows?

* Watched half of My Neighbor Totoro. It had a couple things against it: low-quality video (is if I had been watching a videotape instead of DVD-quality), and the subtitles were just awful. Man talks for two minutes, and the subtitles show: "Mice?". But unfortunately the biggest thing against it (for me) was the story. Too darned slow! We watched a snail crawl at one point! I kept saying to myself "the music is so beautiful! Doesn't matter how little is happening, just listen to the music!", but in the end (or at least 45 minutes into the 90 minute movie), it wasn't enough.

In a way, Totoro felt like a rough draft for Spirited Away. Kid looked the same, did some of the same actions, some of the "magical creatures" were the same, and the music felt just the same. Spirited Away was *tons* better though. I didn't hate Totoro, I was just really bored by it.

Bets on this scene getting edited out of any US showing? Bathtime! With, eh, daddy!.

More watching tomorrow!

Hint for anyone who owns an old cat: Get a heating pad for her, and she'll thank you with purrs loud enough to fill the room! I got one for my little girl, and I think she'll be a lot more comfortable and happy this winter.
