And look how much power he has today...
Apr. 27th, 2004 02:19 pmI'm very tired of being sick at the actions of people. I need to make an effort to find some *good* things. (No, I don't go looking for bad stuff, it's just everywhere and hard to avoid.)
Bill Frist, Senate Majority Leader and Republican, lied, probably broke laws, and killed cats on a regular basis. Quote:
"Frist acknowledged in a 1989 book that he routinely killed cats while an ambitious medical student at Harvard Medical School in the 1970s. His office said it had no record on how many cats died. Frist disclosed that he went to animal shelters and pretended to adopt the cats, telling shelter personnel he intended to keep them as pets. Instead he used them to sharpen his surgical skills, killing them in the process."
I love what is said in his defense:
"One Frist supporter said the senator's opponents are fueling the interest in the issue.
"What is happening here is that people are doing profiles of the senator, and they are desperate to find something wrong with him and to come up with something bad in his past," he pointed out. "
Forget that this asshole admitted he did it, no! Boo hoo hoo! It's all his opponents' fault!
My heart and my head hurt. How can this "person" be permitted to walk around free, let alone be in a position of power? How the hell can people do such things? Why does someone who quite obviously not care about other living things have the power to make decisions? What the hell is wrong with this place?
Bah.
