So tired this morning, even though I slept a good six hours. I had another Naruto dream last night: In it Shikamaru actually had a secret bloodline move/technique/whatever (something besides being easily bored). He could see X seconds into the future (5, 10, 15, it varied). He was a really nice fellow, though it was hard to talk to him because all he wanted to do was lounge around and nap. He kept trying to wave me off, hee.

I downloaded and watched this week's double-ep (which was just that, so yay for not having 30 minutes of recap). I hadn't intended to watch it, I wanted to save it for tonight so I'd have something new to see, but I ended up watching it by mistake. I had intended just to check it to see if it was half-recap like the last hour special, but when I saw it was new stuff, I couldn't turn it off.

Raw 66-67 spoilers. Wow! )

Since I'm once more out of new things to watch, I downloaded some Read or Die (or is it Read or Die TV? I forget). I'm not sure if I'll like it or not, but a few folks have recommended it so I'll try it out. (Yes, I still have some things I haven't watched, like Go and Trigun and X and some other stuff, but I want a new series like Naruto or Prince of Tennis -- something I can be totally obsessed with for a while.

And speaking of TeniPuri, *sniff* it's hard to stay into it when there's such a delay between eps. Plus I have a 15 ep gap between the end of the subbed ones that I saw, and the raw ones currently being put out, so watching raws is pretty silly for me.

I'm pondering One Piece. I've been sort of wary about the series (the main character is made of rubber???), but people like it and it has tons of eps, so it's worth considering...

And I realized something this morning: I just got caught up with my CD burning last weekend, but now I have to do 60+ eps of Naruto. Heh. I've gone through almost 150 blank CDs, and amazingly my 200 CD holder binder is almost full! I thought I'd never, ever fill it up. (Darned Whistle eps would only fit 3/CD, as opposed to the usual 4-5/CD.) Going to have to buy more blanks and another binder soon.

Oh! And I found out that "Kiba" means "Fang", so it fits both the Wolf's Rain character as well as the Naruto one.

This has been bothering me ever since little Georgie announced our grandiose plans to make a super high-tech nifty Moon Base to venture further into space from: How can he, or anyone who has thought this through, support this idea? Sure having base on the moon would be cool, and oh boy! Another thing we do first! And as a Star Trek fan, how could I not dream about being on some Enterprise-like ship flying way far away? But putting down the crack pipe, how about the money behind this dream?

There are kids, American kids, go to bed hungry every night. People in America starve to death. They die of lack of medical care. Our very same government is cutting funding to nursing homes (so many of which are already lacking in staff and funding). Women and children are beaten, and there aren't enough outreach programs to save them all. Sexual predators can sign up on the offenders list or not as they choose -- there is no one to force them to do it! They'll only get in trouble for not signing up if they're caught doing something else.

I'm not disagreeing that a base on the moon would be an oh-so-cool idea, but how in the world can anyone put it before correcting the on-going suffering and loss of life? The lack of a minimal standard of living for everyone?

Until every single American is living above poverty level, until random wandering homeless mental patients are off the streets and in some sort of organized, supervised place, we should be focusing our attention and money towards fixing our current problems, not allowing Mr. Georgie President to distract us with the idea of a shiny new toy that we might be able to one day get.

Bah.
