The good: Back to walking. Though I honestly intended to walk while on vacation, it never happened. And while I whined and went "I don't wanna" all morning while getting ready, I did it anyway. Full distance, full time, no pain, no excessive tiredness.

The bad: OMG, sleep! Sleep! I need sleep! Went to bed at 11, turned off lights at 12. Fell asleep after 1:30 *toss*turn*toss*roll* Woke up with at start at 3 AM. Smoke! Fire! I smell smoke! ...wtf? There's no smell in the air. Dream? Who knows. *toss*turn*toss*roll* Fall back to sleep at 4. ...5 AM, sprinklers go off, I awake with a start. Never go back to sleep, up at 6. Grand total of sleep: 2.5 hours, tops. Please kill me now.

The good: FOOD! Since we don't get fruit until late on Monday mornings, I picked up an egg sandwich. MMMM. So good! Food! Yay eating! (On the plus side, though I did nothing all last week but sleep and sit at the computer and eat crap, I still lost a pound. Yay!)

The bad: *whine* How can I be here when there's so much on FFXI that I need to do? Fish are going un-caught! My stuff needs to be sold! I need to deal with leveling up two jobs! Both of which are close to a good point! AARRGG! Why am I here?

The good: A break from FFXI. :) Being on all day really is a bit much, so being forced to do something else is sort of okay. I'd still rather be playing though. :)

The bad: Did I mention the lack of sleep? Arg. My eyes feel like they're on fire, and I can't keep them open! Zzzz. I should get some tea or that sugarfree hot chocolate or something. Wish I could get a nap.

The good: Catching up on my LJ flist! And now I'll be able to stay up to date! I was feeling really bad about not reading peoples' posts in a timely manner, but that won't be a problem anymore!

The bad: I have 400 flist posts to read. Heh. At least they'll give me something to do here at work!

FFXI foo:

Thanks to partying with my LS friends, I hit level 16 on my main job (white mage) yesterday! Woo! Just two more levels until I can get my subjob, and then at 20 I can ride chocobos! Then at 25 I can raise the dead! (Darned game never leaves you without goals!) My secondary job, black mage, is nearly at level 9, which is where I need it to be for the subjob.

Fishing, fishing, fishing! I finally gave in to the (always good) advice of a fishing friend and got a Mithran rod. It was my biggest purchase ever (15K gil), but it's going to be totally worth it. I caught two stacks of moat carp yesterday evening, and they sell at 4K each stack. That means the darned thing has already halfway paid itself off! (Assuming the fish sell, which they should.) Plus! Plus, I can catch fish that I can cook with, which both raises my cooking skill and gives me more stuff to sell! Between that and my (now failed*) import/export business, I'm back up to having 30K gil again.

(*I hope you're happy, [livejournal.com profile] loneguardian, darned Bastok took first place and halted my profit! Darned treeless city! ;) We'll get back on top soon, then I'll be able to go back to ripping Bastokians off helping supply the kind people of Bastok with things they can't otherwise buy there!)

I had fun partying with my LS folks yesterday! We went to new places to get an item for me that I'll need for the subjob quest (skull) as well as eggs for them. I got to see a cave full of dinosaur (or something big) bones! It was way way cool. Also, I saw a new city and a few new lands! This game is just amazing, totally amazing: I keep thinking it can't come out with anything new, and yet it still does! I can't imagine how many manhours the thing took to make. Complete cities! So many of them! And so many wild places! It's like they created an entire world, made all the people in it, created tons of new lifeforms. Everything down to blades of grass and up to lightning in the sky! I know how good it felt to build a MUSH from nothing into a whole "world", and compared to a game like this, a MUSH is crap (*sniff* Sad, but true. What are a paragraph or two of words compared to totally realistic, moving, breathing creatures?). The people who created FFXI must feel like gods ...or maybe like parents. :)

I saw a new city yesterday! Jeuno! Very very pretty and so big! And complex! I didn't stay too long though. After running around and exploring, I switched to a level one job and took the death express back to Sandy. (I have lots and lots of screenshots from the day, but I haven't had time to resize them and upload them and all that. Soon! Hopefully!)

So I guess that's it! It's good to be "back" to active LJing... and now back to trying to catch up on my flist! Only 300 more posts to read! Heehee.
