The eggs you can get are actually pretty nice. Better than the Christmas trees, IMO:
There also appear to be more costume (belts? one-time use things?). I've seen Yags and Orcs in the city this morning.
I have no idea how to get any of these items. Very sad. (And if I left Yagudokisses connected for more than a moment at a time, she'd SO need a Yagudo costume.)
Very, very annoyed that some people lose so much playing time because they have to work. *shakes fist at everyone who can just play all day* :)

Edit: Basic info here http://ffxi.somepage.com/. But apparently using the first 5 letters of a region will get you the egg of whoever controls that region.
