Naruto and FFXI

In honor of this post, I hunted down and uploaded this old icon of mine. I generally hate animated icons, but this one fits. (I uploaded a few other old ones and brought my count up to 51 of 100. I feel like such a slacker for not filling all 100 slots!)

Naruto: Oh my god, am I so happy! Did they change anything at all about the end of this arc? Maybe the speech at the very end, but none of the substance, right? *makes endless happy fangirl noises* They actually showed how much Zabuza and Haku (two men, for those not familiar with the series) loved each other! I was sniffling so much, but luckily didn't cry my eyes out as I had when I first watched the series.

There's only one sad part to seeing this: Thus ends my favorite arc in the series, so early in the series. Yeah there are other good (and bad) storylines in the future, but in my opinion this is the very best. To me, this was the best arc in any series, and I'm so happy that they did not ruin it to show it here.

FFXI: Remember the day before yesterday when I was in a party and missed 4 of every 5 swings? The leader of that party actually invited me back to another party today. Heh. I thought everyone would hope to never see me again!

Unfortunately we went back to that U-whatever Range. The leader loves it there, but if you ask me any camp that people regularly die getting to is not a good XP camp. The first time we went the NIN tank died twice, and this trip the WHM and PLD died (and I nearly did). I'd much much much rather go to the Meadows, or failing there Moon/Sky. (I don't like Moon/Sky, but at least they're less deathy to get to.)

Got about 6K XP in a little over 2 hours, which is better than average XP for me. Yay!

After that I puttered around and didn't do much, then late tonight I did Pulling the Strings (solo ENM BC). Won again! Yay!

The dice rolls were just horrible:
1) Mannequin got attack bonus.
2) Mannequin's TP increased to 209.
3) "Yay! Yay! Yay! Not your lucky day!" Mannequin 2hrs. I stun and kite (Yay remembered Maat lessons!), he only got one draining hit in.
4) Mannequin recovers 396 HP. (Grrrrr!)
5) My TP increased to 151.
6) I got defense boost. (Mannequin died the very next swing.)

But I won and I got 2K XP! I'm @12K to 74 now! :D But tomorrow is another o-hat run and I'm rather worried I'm going to die. (At least we'll have WHMs so hopefully get a R3 if I do...)

I wish I could do Pulling the Strings more than once every five days, and I don't mean for the XP (though of course that's nice). I enjoy the fight. I love that it's all me doing it, all my skill, no one else to depend on or to cover if I slip up. If I ever get my hands on another (DRK) Maat test, I'm so totally going to try kicking his ass again. :D

Oh, and this was cute, for many reasons. Heehee.
