Naruto and FFXI
Feb. 11th, 2006 09:38 pmNaruto: Is CN showing new eps twice a week? This is the second time I'm sure I missed an ep, yet I watch every Saturday. Or maybe they're cutting big honking chunks out of the eps, but that would make no sense... (Tonight's ep is the first time I'm hearing about 'all three must be tested or none can be'.)
So cool hearing all the English voices. Kiba made me grin, because I remembered someone's AU stories about him running a bar and having various relationships. Good stuff. :)
FFXI: On Friday, in an effort to take "time off", I did the NPC Promy quest thingie (to get the tactic pearl), then used all the charges. Went from 41 -> 43 on my NPC, then he hit 44 tonight.
I decided I have to finish BLM before I work on NIN (for space issues, I just cannot store another set of armor). Went from 30->32 in the most horrible parties.
Party #1: I got 800 XP in two hours. Gah. The party did every single thing wrong that a party could do: Anyone and everyone pulled, "SC? What SC? Let's just do random WSs and maybe we'll get a SC!", someone died every single fight. I (BLM 30) was the main healer for the first hour. Then we got a PL (WHM 60) who somehow succeeded in dying in the second fight.
Party #2: Get there, someone disconnects. They get back, we have one fight. Someone disconnects. One fight, NIN tank dies. Someone disconnects. An hour later, we break. Two fights, under 200 XP. One hour.
Party #3: Made by me. Got okay XP. Only bad thing was that the WAR had some sort of mental problems and was trying to make the BRD leave the party. The two had never met before, but the WAR had a personal problem with something about the BRD. Made things rather unhappy in the party, but the XP was okay for the hour or so it lasted.
On the first two parties, I kept looking at the member list and boggling at how low the ranks were (Rank 2! Rank 3!), but then laughed at myself: I guess that's okay at level 30. Some of these people might be leveling a job for the first time, odd as that sounds. But the quality of these people (experience with the game aside) was just so low I kept wanting to stab my eyes out:
The SMN's macro (in /say, no less!) for sending his avatar in to fight. Poor Carby!

And I don't even know what this means:

I can't even count the number of times idiots said "let's rape that mob!" or "we did that mob in the ass lol!". Somehow I bit my tongue each and every time -- I just wanted XP, and there's no way these idiots would listen to me anyway.
Five more levels of BLM, but today made me really worried about leveling NIN: I'm going to tank for these idiots? Know how many times (today alone) the WHM didn't heal the tank because the WHM was afraid of getting hate -- entire fights going by, no cures (so I had to). And the backup tanks never ever voked when the NIN's shadows were down. How do any NINs ever level with how much they must die?
