It's so late, and yet: BOUNCIE! (FFXI)

First: Catlove is still down. This means no screenshots and no email. If I haven't replied to a comment, it's because I've not seen any since Friday.

Second: Eee! The whole day was fun and productive, but it ended so amazingly well! A Ballista (player vs player battles) was starting, and I joined in! 60 cap in the Marshlands.

While it wasn't as much fun as the first one, it was still amazing oodles of fun! I died three times (which had me laughing so so so much!) but I got to kill someone as well, so I was able to score a point! My first one!

It was less fun for two reasons: 1) I think I was the only NA player on my whole side (12 people). Luckily the leader of the whole thing would use the autotranslator to tell where to go, so I didn't get left behind. 2) It was totally a mage's game, not melee at all. Sandy had RDMs and BLMs all over the place, and Bastok had RDMs, BLMs, and a WHM or two. Most of the rest of the melees were DRKs, and they mostly cast as well. (But heeheehee, every time a DRK got within range I bound, gravity'ed, slowed, blinded, and para'ed them! I know just how to hurt DRKs! Heehee.) (Edit: Looking at my screenshots, I see one of my deaths was to a DRK using Guillotine! Hee! Isn't that so funny and ironic? At least me-as-DRK-main thinks so! :D )

It was more fun because... it was a mage's game. :D I would get bound, slept, silenced, aspired, then be unable to watch for bind to wear off because I was laughing so hard! But the amusing thing is more than half the time they'd bind/sleep/silence me... then run off. They could have killed me many times, but they all just ran off. Heh. But on the other hand, I got to do "stealth attacking" a lot -- I went invisible, then ran into their masses to silence their mages. Heh heh heh. (Of course I usually got bound before I could make it back to my side, but hee! Was still fun!)

And it was also more fun this time because we really, really worked as a team. Cured each other, woke each other when sleeping, etc. Was very handy.

And I MUST MUST MUST level NIN! Must! Starting Tuesday! If I could have kept shadows up, this would have been so much easier!

In the earlier parts of the day I mostly worked with my NPC (he dinged 49 and is halfway to 50 -- I used all the charges on my signet and tactic pearl, and also I did the quest for the advanced job), and went on an AF3 run (WHM and MNK) to get Woman her missing AF pieces. Later she and I went and got a coffer key, and she got another piece!

(Ha ha ha, the last hour of the day took up the majority of the post, while the first 12 hours or so got a single paragraph. :P )

I'm thinking Ballista might be at the same time each week? The one other match I caught was at 10:20 on a Sunday night, too. I'd like to do it every week, but I'm supposed to be offline by 10PM on worknights and the event makes me so darned hyper. :D There must be schedules around somewhere, maybe I can find some at a better time!
