Leather and chocobos and farming, oh my!


Hit that early this morning, then farmed and camped the AH for the rest of the day before being able to craft again at night. Ended at 90.6 Very, very, very much looking forward to being able to skill on griffon leather. It'll be a much bigger loss than tiger masks, but it's really hard to skill on something that takes three unstackable items (and two stackable, plus crystal of course). Such space issues! x.x (Edit: Huh! Looks like, if I wear both my apron and gloves, I can start on these now! I'll look into buying some tomorrow, maybe! *pats his poor, poor wallet*)

Another good guild turnin item allowed me to get this:

I really wish I had gotten it sooner! It doesn't save much money at all (saves 2 dark crystals and 2 distilled waters -- ha ha) but it saves a ton of time. Oh my god, so much time. I love it!

Picked up the egg from breeding with Boose's bird yesterday, and ran back to Sandy to retire the annoying TristanTrotter. Such a sad CS! ...yet it still wasn't enough to get me to feel anything but annoyed with him. You get a peachy keen plaque for your house, too!

Then I tried digging on my own chocobo! Since genomeffxi had wondered if you get a separate item pool when on your own bird, I decided to test that out. Since it's the weekend, I'd usually avoid the Desert like the plague, but I went there. (Oh so nice to be able to outpost in and call bird instead of having to teleport as my lowly WHM and sneak through aggro to rent one!) It was very good digging (2 plats, 2 golds -- OH MY GOD plats are down to 20-30K each! ;; *falls over dead*), but I'm not sure if there was a different pool or not. It could have been a good time to dig there (few/no other diggers at the time) -- unlikely but not impossible. Or it could have been a different pool than rental birds but other non-rental birds were also digging there. In other words, it didn't feel like I had the item pool all to myself, but it did feel like there was 0-2 other people there at the time. Took me 23 stacks of greens to hit my 100 items, which is about normalish for anything besides having the zone to myself.

It's funny, but because of my image naming system, I can do a "this day in history" while making my posts. Two years ago today, I was also posting about chocobo digging! I posted this pretty shot of digging in the Canyon and this amusingly-named dangerousdigging.jpg. It's funny to see me in riding gear and that those were actually aggro to little WHM me. I also wonder if that is a CTY pearl? It must be, I can't remember what color the LS before that was (green?), but it was very different than CTY.

Guess that's about it. Can't say it was an exciting day (synthing on either side of 10 hours of farming, basically), but maybe tomorrow will be more interesting.
