The weekend: Over! Yay! (FFXI)
Dec. 4th, 2006 09:17 amWhile Sunday went somewhat better than Saturday, all in all I'm happy the weekend is over. Yay being back at work? :P
Started Sunday with some skilling. I have no idea why, but dagger skilling is going so slowly for me. /NIN so I can use two, skill level about 210 skilling on steelshells, and I got about 3 levels in about 2 hours. Maybe eating sushi was giving me too much of an acc boost?
I also noticed I'm getting quite a collection of daggers. Why? I now have more daggers than scythes! Eek!
After skilling we did an around-the-world tour to get avatars for some folks who needed them. On one hand, getting to the fights wasn't anywhere anywhere anywhere near as bad as it had been the first time. On my first trip through Cape Teriggan I was nearly in tears -- sneaking and invisibling through big bad mobs, with a totally unhelpful map and big cliffs everywhere blocking my way. This trip? Totally different. So much love for the .dat change that gives you the maps with things/places marked on them! While it was still scary, it wasn't anywhere near as bad! On the other hand, the fights were a hell of a lot more of a challenge than they had been the first time. (First time: 5 75s and ~70 me. Second time: 75 x2, 67 x3.) Let's just say that I'll be able to get XP on DRK from Besieged for... quite a while. (No one's fault. I kept getting one-shotted for more damage than I have at full HP. Avatar 2hrs: All 67s take double digit damage, both of us 75s took 1,300+. WTF?)
Now I'm worrying about how soon the December update will come. I'm 2K or more behind on BRD now, and need to get a bunch of XP for DRK, too. But as soon as the update comes, Besieged will give you limit points, so no way will I waste using it for XP instead.
And while we're talking about depressing stuff, let's round out the post with digging! I'm about to give up on it, either fully or (more likely) just on the weekends. I used 15 charges on my chocobo whistle in one day! 3-4 of them were for non-digging use, but that's a hell of a lot of charges (at 1K gil/charge) looking for a place that wasn't dug out. Ended up getting most of my items in the Dunes, which means I dropped about 80/100 items (shell bugs, lugworms, other crap). No way in hell I came close to breaking even...
So yay, weekend's over!
