It took me about four hours and way too much money, but I completed the grrr Easter event on FFXI in one night. Stupid eggs. I don't understand why we can't have a fun holiday event.
I took screenshots of the four items and the item you get when they all make one item, but apparently Fraps didn't save them? Or I somehow hit the wrong key when I've been using the same one for screenshots for five years? Who knows, but no pictures. Boo.
Things to do on FFXI, hopefully this weekend:
1) Mini-expansion foo. Farming the three key items at least, more if they're actually, you know, working. c.c
2) Find out what's required for the new Sandy Wings national quests. I really really REALLY hope it's nothing too annoying. No sneaking through aggro, no fights. Let's just have some CSs and maybe some turn-ins of stuff you can get at the AH? (Edit: Well fuck me with a fork. There's a ton of sneaking/invisibling through aggro and multiple mobs to fight, party required for them. This may be the point I bail out.)
WoW: My not wanting to quest continued tonight, but I forced myself to do it anyway. Hit 66 and maybe a quarter into level. Once I did that, I rewarded myself with going fishing. Hit 412, woot!
Allow me to express how impressed I am with Blizzard. I finally did the server change last night. It warned me again and again that it would take "up to a few days" to process and I wouldn't be able to play during that time. Each time it warned me, I almost backed out. I'm just getting into the WoW part of my week, I didn't want to lose days of playtime! But my goal was to get to .. um... the name of my new server (DuranDuran? Ha ha) by 70 to play with
kelen,
naikitty, and
pomr. (Sorry
peppygrowlithe! We just found each other, too!) So I started the progress, and just for laughs checked the progress page. One hour or less to be moved. o.O Now that is how you do a time estimate! Overestimate it so when you come in in less time, people would be impressed! Plus the code/site was really cool: Somehow the website knew when my character had mail, had an auction up, and was logged on (it totally walked me through getting ready to move).
The only downside is that my name was taken on the new server. That surprised me, as I had made Thess up. :/ I fiddled with a ton of names, and finally picked Thester. It seemed like Thess could have been a nickname, and it still has the Th- sound like Thistle, and somehow Thester sort of fits a cow.
And lastly: Yay! I got a hat like the one I had sold! So now I'm a cow in a hat on a wolf! Ha ha.
