If I were rich...
Jun. 20th, 2010 12:35 pmIf I were rich, I'd have gone to South Africa to see the World Cup. While I do enjoy watching the game, I'm not a big enough fan to know the names of the players or to have more than a general sense of which teams are known to be better than others. Still, the idea of the World Cup, something the whole world is involved in... such an exciting, happy idea! And I'd really love to visit Africa!
Which brings me to Americans. If you don't like the game, that's fine. Totally in your right, not everyone likes the same things. However, to bad-mouth the game, to endlessly insult it for amazingly stupid reasons like the score is too low... (That makes me laugh. In football you get seven points for scoring, no? So the score is artificially made high and people are happy.) I was listening to a radio call-in program, Americans were going so far as to call it "not a sport"! GAH! The entire world likes something, but American doesn't, so hey, it's not worth anything! Mumble, mumble. That sort of arrogance is just so embarrassing.
Also, if I were rich, I wouldn't be avoiding housework by making a LJ post. Zoom! Back to work!
