Okay, raise your hand if you're surprised I'm dead tired today. No one? Good, you all get gold stars.

I tried to go to sleep at 11 (later than my usual bedtime). Got up. Tried to sleep at 11:15. Got up. Decided since it was nearly midnight to stay up and be there for Cata going live. Midnight came, we had to log out and back in to see the changes. Logged out just fine. Tried to log in for 15 minutes to nothing but disconnections, so gave up and went to bed. I really, really needed to sleep, so I forced myself to stay in bed, but I might as well not have.

I love my bed, or usually I do, but last night everything felt wrong. Pillow felt horrible. I always sleep on my side, but both sides felt wrong somehow and amazingly I ended up sleeping on my back for maybe an hour. Until I woke up and that felt wrong. Blankets were tangled. Nothing covered me right.

Finally I just got up an hour before my alarm went off. Got an hour of poor sleep all night. zzzzz

BUT! Getting up early meant I had a chunk of time to play before work. Eeeeeeeee, there wasn't even a queue to log on! (Of course, it wasn't even 5 AM yet...) Did fishing/cooking/flying training across five alts (but I still need to do all the dailies). Started archaeology on big Keen. Lots of fun! Not the OH MY GOD AMAZING FUN BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE IN MY WHOLE LIFE level of fun, but I certainly could do it for a couple hours straight. I had enough time to get 30-something points and completed a fossil! (I was picking zones at random, I need to do my research sometime today so I can pick the right path towards the bony raptor mount and pet.)

Flying makes all the difference. Archaeology would suck if you had to stick to FPs and then ride. I'm happily surprised they let us fly in Org, too!

I poked at worgen creation, seeing what I liked. Sad that human-worgen features are tied -- I can make the worgen look how I want it to, but then the human looks wrong. :/ Looks are important in RP! I know there's RSP and such, but not everyone uses them.

The AH end of things is wacky. I can't explain what happened, but I think it was one of two things: 1) No one expected Shattering to be a big sales opportunity, so few folks were ready to take advantage of it. 2) A bunch of people saw how high I could drive prices during Shattering, so all jumped into my market come Cata. In 4.0.3a, I had the market to myself for lot of the time. I was able to move the prices way high. Today, gods, the market has been flooded since two days ago. I mean hundreds of more items up than usual, dozens of new sellers. Used to be people never put more than 20 of a certain item up, right now they have over a hundred...

Happily, as I have more money than any one person could need, this doesn't bother me overly much. It's interesting, like a culture I'm no longer part of, but I don't feel RAGE over it now. (And I really would like to get out of the market, but I have so many darned mats and I can't help buying more when they're cheap.)

Edit: Funniest bug of Cata so far! All mounts currently working as two-person mounts. Look at that balance! :D

Edit 2: You know, since we fly everywhere now... bone raptor mount really wouldn't even be used much.

WoW and Glee and zzzz

This is going to be quicker than I'd like, because I'm exhausted.

Glee: I don't like Christmas specials and I hate Christmas music, so I knew going in the ep would likely be my least favorite. Liked:
- Kurt's song (what a voice!)
- Becky was amazingly cute (though I'm disliking the situations Sue puts her in -- she's a child that needs to learn right from wrong, not a dog or a doll of Sue's)
- That Britt believes in Santa is so cute (she's really one of my favorite characters)
- But best of all was Beiste's story of her childhood Christmas wish. If any character is ever, ever horrible to Beiste again, I shall hunt them down. Hunt down a fictional character, yes. That's how serious I am.

WoW: *insert screenshot here* The fact that my first experience in Cata's new areas was face-down, floating lifeless in the water made me laugh out loud. Welcome to how the last two FFXI missions started -- with you dead!

Did some questing on big Keen to get him the seahorse mount. Never, ever will I quest on him again. I HATE HATE HATE rogue in PvE. Leather armor, no self healing*, no pet... Fighting one single 80 mob brought me below half-life every time. Two or more killed me every time unless Vanish was cooled. It wasn't until I was almost done did I bitch about that and Morny pointed out that rogues were given a minor heal in the last patch. That was something, though far from enough. Plate-wearers, druids, mages, I didn't see a single class that had a hard time with one mob, and most of them were killing many at a time.

After that I did archaeology for, um, hours. Too many hours, but I have a hard time stopping.

Another cross-over between FFXI and WoW: In Hot&Cold on FFXI, the... whatever they were called, the spots with the chest, they were in fixed spots, it wasn't truly random. I quickly noticed that in Archaeology, too. There are a set number of goal spots, you can memorize where they are and that helps.

Hit 110 in archaeology. Leveling slows so much after 100. zzzz I mean, you go from a skillup nearly every dig to five skillups every... lord, my tired brain needs to do math... well, lot less skillups.
