Three things in no special order!

Hit 300K, woot. I have 4-5K stuck on Alliance side, but I generally don't count that since I can't access it anymore.

Speaking of Alliance side! Dandelion the worgen druid hit 30 tonight. Of more interesting note, at the rate I'm going I could go for Loremaster on him. Because questing on a druid is harder than hunter, what I do is stay and finish every single quest in a zone, even when they're green/dark green. The XP is still fine. In both the zones he's been in so far, he got the quest achievement for the area and then kept going, finishing all the other available quests. It makes the questing less painful!

Things that aren't less painful: Instancing. Gah! To see if it'd be easier XP, I sent Dandelion into a random today. In 15 minutes I had died 5 times, but more than that I wanted to stab each and every one of those people in the face. I got to hear lovely conversation like how the white race is better than all others (said after one member said English wasn't his first language), got to hear about how belves are "gay fags lol", and other such horrible stuff.

If I ruled the world, I would use something like WoW to track down all the people who need to be majorly reeducated. All these people would be sent off to special beatings training until they could act like decent human beings.

Anyway! The last WoW bit is that I rearranged my professions. Again. x.x I wanted another (third) alchemist*, but the problem was that my one open professions slot was on alchemist #2. So Thack (herb/mining) dropped mining and became herb/alchemy, and Crow (alchemy/???) is taking mining in his extra slot. Which means I need to level mining for what must be the millionth time. zzzz It was nice having both gathering professions on one alt (and a druid, no less), but I rarely gather. Druid is better for herbing (doesn't break flight form), but I actually like hunter (Crow) better for mining since the pet can handle aggro while you take the node.

* The price of volatile air is falling fast on my server. It used to sell 30+ gold per single, now it dips into the teens. I'm really late in taking on another alchemist, I really should have gotten this arranged sooner. I'm hoping this dip in price won't get worse, but who knows.

Whenever people ask me how Ellie is doing, I tell them that she improves every day. Sometimes it's a big step, sometimes it's a little step, but every day there's some sort of progress.

Today's was really interesting, and though nearly invisible, is a big step. We're finally communicating. There was a loud bang next door. We both looked towards it, then looked at each other. She then ran off to hide, but before that she looked at me and saw me. It wasn't fear in her eyes at that moment, she was checking on me and I was checking on her.

Previously when I had said things like "she looks at me with terror in her eyes", I thought I was sort of engaging in hyperbole. I knew she was afraid, but I didn't realize that that's really what I was seeing until it was gone from her eyes.

It's hard to describe it, but it's like she's finally seeing me. Me, not OH MY GOD A CAT-EATING MONSTER. It's like she's willing to look first and then decide if I'm doing something scary or not.

This is a wonderful step, I'd put it on the same level as her letting me pat her or her approaching me for the first time, perhaps even bigger than those two. I should have been more patient, I think everything's going to turn out okay with her. :)
