Salads can be yummy, especially with honey mustard dressing. Even low fat (tried it today) was fine and yummy -- not as good as full fat, but duh. Perfectly fine for eating, will continue to get in the future.

Tried celery. Hated it. People who say it has no taste are insane. It has a strong taste of... something. I want to say it tastes "green", but that makes no sense. Whatever it is, I hate it. Took a bite, spit it out after the first chew. This is too bad, as I'd like to like a food that burns more calories than it gives. Probably didn't help that it tasted like it had been soaked in seawater. Blech, salty.

Okay, this isn't cool. On Monday I went to Wendys #1 to get a salad. Ate it, it went right through me and I was running for the bathroom within an hour. Decided that that must have just been a dirty place, so went to a different Wendys today. Ate it about 20 minutes ago. Belly is gurgling in a rather dangerous way. Two bad/dirty Wendys? (Wendyses? Wendii?) Or am I allergic to something in the salad? I wouldn't think an allergy would have this sort of an effect... Hm, but that southwestern salad I had from them was fine yesterday... Maybe something unique to this salad? That'd only be cheese (which I eat fine otherwise) or a few bacon bits (I couldn't get them all off, they kept falling through the leaves).

Quite surprisingly, I've eaten 2.5 pounds of blueberries in 2.5 days. I must have been insane for buying such a large container of them. They were good, but I've now had enough to last me for the rest of the year.

Leftover pizza will be dinner tonight.

I am of the rather biased suspicion that celery is much like bell peppers, to some people. I don't like celery, especially raw celery, at all.

So, I won't remember to suggest a couple of ways to eat celery, since you had such a strong reaction to it. :)

Okay, this isn't cool....

It may be something in the salad, but I would be more suspicious of the dressing. Or, possibly, this is your body reacting to the rather radical shift in diet you're giving it, switching to lots of veggies.

You can either do an 'elimination diet' to try to figure out if it's something in the salad which may be causing it, or give your body 2-3 weeks to adjust to your new vegetarian lifestyle.

Yeah, I never liked cooked celery, but raw made me GetItOutOfMyMouthNOWNOWNOW all over the place.

I would be more suspicious of the dressing.

I was at first too, but then remembered that I switched it out and had the honey mustard dressing with my SW salad. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Color me unsurprised. I figured you'd feel that way, as it is a strong 'flavor' in its own way, but I decided to let you come to your own conclusion. I still stand by my bell pepper advice, however. Ease into them slowly; don't go all Chairman Kaga and just chomp down on a raw(!) one. You'll never eat them again. No, they're great things, but you'll (particularly your finicky self) want to start off very slowly, using tiny amounts, cooking into food as accents. I can help you out if you need suggestions.

Peppers are still on my list, yeah.

Snicker! As if!

I adored the Wendy's salads when they first came out but after a particularly bad experience I haven't been able to eat them again.

Celery... I really don't like it much myself, but I seriously love bell peppers. Even when I was a kid, I ate raw green ones all the time. I was just very very careful to get every single seed and bit of inner white part out.

*thumbs up* Good eating!
