Merits, scary people, and Besieged (FFXI)

thistlechaserIt's way too easy to spend merit points. Since I hate XPing I earn them amazingly slowly, and it's always painful to let them go. My plan had been finishing up the MP/HP group by getting the last two HP ones, but... 5 merit points for 10 HP? Twice? 10 points for 20 HP? I think I'll skip that. I had delayed finishing crit hit up to do HP and MP, but now I'm sort of not wanting to put them into there, either. While I love DRK, I do everything on BRD -- what's crit hit up matter on BRD? So looking through the lists I spotted evasion. Like HP and MP, that'd help both jobs. So I got two points in that and I'm back down to 0 merits. Oh well!
Amazingly, I made 10K limit points in 24 hours. Roughly split between the panty hunt the other night and spell-hunting in a CoP capped area for Nai. Luckily I'm at 9K+ towards my next merit!
And on that subject, I finally tried soloing the Lesser Colibri as BRD 75. SO SO SO SO not worth it. Took me almost 10 minutes to kill one (didn't want to DoT it because I was sleeping it to recast stuff), I got down into the red once and the dark orange three times. For 40 XP. Ha ha ha no. Amazingly, I actually soloed better as DRK. Lots quicker if not much safer.
1K of that 10K limit points came from tonight's Besieged, which pissed me off muchly. We allied with a 'friends of the LS' group who took great joy in fighting the NMs. We told them not to, explained why it was better to fight normal ones, and they agreed. Yet still they did it. Four of the five generals died right off the bat. The whole attack took an hour and a half. Started with 250 in the zone, ended with 450 (NA primetime, mind you). Medusa ended at about 80% life and Lamia #3 was down to 20%. Why won't people listen? Why the hell are god damned NAs on our server so damned stupid? Other servers are still undefeated! And we almost lost tonight! Hell, when was the last time we actually made it to a level 7? Grrrrrrrr.
And as a side note, I really wish people would stop asking non-seeking BRDs to party. In the time it took me to write the post thus far, I've gotten three invites. I always respond to them ({Thanks for the offer, but I have to pass.}) because I don't want to be rude, but it's getting highly annoying! I don't want to have to go anon, I hate being anon, people should just not ask non-seeking folks.
Didn't get much done Sunday, thus no post. Was dead tired (5-6 hours of sleep for the last four nights in a row), brain wouldn't function. Sunday and today was mostly COR stuff. Making stacks of bullets and buying too many cards. I ended up getting a stack + 4 cases of light and dark cards. (Cases? Whatever the bundled cards are.) Plus four cases of each earth, wind, and lightning. Eh, I think those are the three elements, whatever the two I need + 1 'random damage; ones were. At least I should be set until 75 or so. :P
Finally got some screenshots edited!
Brygid grows scarier each time you visit her. Yes, dear, make grown men dress up in S&M outfits and then talk about how their panties smell. (At least that outfit actually looks okay on me! And cost a grand total of 15K. Sold back by the next day, too!)

Not pretty in the least: Galka in panties. Ugh. Things I don't need to see first thing in the morning!
Last two get a spoiler warning for the latest ToAU missions: I love how they set up the scenes. Simple things like how the characters lean to shots like this. Nevermind that I'm naked in it, I was WHM/BLM for sneaking/warping.
Tomorrow is COR static, yay!
