We used to have Dinotopia here- I think it was my stepson's copy- I remember looking at the pictures but I don't think I ever read the story. Not sure why! And yeah, urban fantasy just doesn't work for me either. I've tried quite a few that so many other readers insist are great, but nah. Not my thing.
