Spirit Walker by Michelle Paver.
Quick synopsis: Wolf Brother (book 1), but on the sea.
Brief opinion: This book never got so bad that I DNFed it, but I also had very little interest in the story.
Plot: In book 1, "The Chosen One" Torak, Wolf the wolf, and Hermione Granger-ish Renn had to solved the issues in the Forest. In book 2, an evil wizard is still up to trouble, so the three have to travel over the sea to an island to try to figure out how to save everything again.
While on the island, Torak learns he has a super special magical power, a power that even the strongest wizards in the world envy.
Writing/editing: A number of grammar/editing issues through the book (same ones as book 1: Lots of semicolons used incorrectly, commas missing, and for some reason "forever" was always written as two words: "for ever").
What I Liked/What I Didn’t Like: My issue in book 1 was that there was too much magical stuff -- I like my prehistoric fiction to be realistic. This book turned the dial up to the max. Demons, ghosts, spirits, magical powers... just too much for me.
Rating: 1-Hated / 2-Disliked / 3-Okay / 4-Liked / 5-Loved: ⭐️⭐️ ¼ -- 2 and a quarter stars. Less than okay, better (slightly) than disliked. I won't be continuing with the series.
