Burnin', burnin', burnin', keep those wagons burnin'-- No, wait, that's not right.

Number of 25 minute eps that fit on one CD? 3-4.
Time it takes to burn one CD? About 10 minutes.
Having an advanced robot that you can load a stack of CDs into and point at a directory of things to be burned? Priceless.

The process wouldn't be so annoying except that you shouldn't open new windows/programs while stuff is being burnt. Since I'm having trouble getting skip-free CD results, I'm trying to do it with no other windows open at all. This makes for very boring computer time. (Whee! We're at 41 percent! Look, 42! Wow, we just hit 43! Here comes 44!)

I wonder why the sound skips in the CD versions of the copied videos. I wonder if it's a problem if the speed of the CD is higher than the speed of the CD player/burner in your computer? I have no idea what speed I have in my machine, but the disks are x52. Seems like one out of every three I burn has skips and jumps in the playback. Very, very annoying and makes me less than eager to delete the originals off my harddrive...

I don't know what's different this time, but this morning I tried watching Prince of Tennis again, and it worked for me. I watched nothing else all day, finally stopping on ep 12/13 (the New Year's Eve special, unnumbered one). I didn't stop because of lack of interest, but after hours I unfortunately couldn't keep up with the subtitles anymore. Bah! Weak eyes, I curse you!

(I really, really like Ryouma's father. Such a lazy, pervy, amusing man! Hee. The three freshmen boys and the fangirling girls are pretty annoying though.)

Last night I started a new series called Last Exile. Very odd, but seems cool, and the animation is just drop-dead wonderful. The story is strange -- it seems to be set during some major and really old war (they drop the bullets for their guns into the muzzle, then have to tap them down), and yet they have giant flying "islands"... I only watched one ep, but I'll watch more when I have time.

I really, really dislike Christmas music, but lately I've been hearing a song that I actually like. Well, I don't know if it's a real song or if it was made for an advertisement. The post office uses it in their ads. "...I'm going to wrap myself in paper, cover myself in glue, stick a bow upon my head... I'm going to mail myself to you!" Something like that. It's really sweet, but not annoyingly so like most Christmas songs.

---

Second bad work week starts tomorrow. I so just don't want to deal with it. Don't want to go to work tomorrow... but since I'll be the only person there, I have no choice. Well, okay, the boss will be there, but that's as good as me being alone. Bah.

Need to finish Christmas shopping over my lunch hours next week. I do the majority of my shopping online, but for little things (stocking stuffer-type gifts) I have to actually go into stores. Shopping around Christmas time... *twitch*

Time to burn more! Burn, baby! Burn!

God, tell me about it. Even when nothing else is running on my computer, I still get glitches and problems every few CDs or so. They need to come up with a way to just download directly onto a storage device, with no errors except for what's on the original. Yeah, right, wishful thinking. ^^

If you do watch more of Last Exile, tell me what you think. I've gotten recs from several sources on that, and I've got the whole series, just haven't watched it yet because there are too many series I should be watching.

Is it very dorky of me to say that this made me squeal? Yes? Ok then. ^_~

Oh, Christmas shopping...I don't wanna. ~cries~

It's a real song, written by Pete Seeger. (http://home.earthlink.net/~jimcapaldi/biograph.htm) I love that song, and I was just joking with my partner that you can tell just how hormonal we are by how close that Post Office commercial comes to making us cry.

Damndamndamn, it's not Pete Seeger who wrote it, it's Woody Guthrie, but Pete Seeger covered it (and they played together a lot too, so um, yeah.)

Anyway, it's John McCutcheon playing it in the commercial and apparantly you can listen to it from the amazon page for his CD here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/music/B0000003FG/glance/103-6802982-0501458).

Ah, so it's not just my computer! It causes most of the other problems in my life, so I figured it was some personal evilness directed at just me.

If you do watch more of Last Exile, tell me what you think.

Will do! It looked really, really good. Assuming I don't find some other series I like better, once I get through all of PoT, I'll probably watch that. Rrr, so many things to watch, so little time! :)

Is it very dorky of me to say that this made me squeal? Yes? Ok then. ^_~

Hey, I gave it another chance because of you, so you can squeal all you like! Thanks!

It looks like it is! As soon as I have some free watching-time, I'm going to jump right back into the series.

Thanks!
